Invisible Sentinel - A Local Startup Success Story

Please join the GPSEG Life Science and Healthcare Group for a local success story.  On November 15, 2016, Nick Siciliano, PhD, CEO and Co-Founder of Invisible Sentinel, will join us to share his journey of starting and launching a life sciences company in Philadelphia. Invisible Sentinel is developing novel diagnostic tools to ensure food and beverage consumer safety and quality.  Nick is a serial entrepreneur whose history includes serving as President and co-founder of Paratope Technologies, a life sciences education company, and Immuno-Spy, a consulting company for vaccines and immunotherapies.  For those of us already in the startup world or considering it, Nick will have lots of wisdom from his experience to share with us.

Nick received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Villanova University and shortly thereafter began his career in science in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School.  He spent several years there performing research in the fields of microbiology and immunology.  He then earned his Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis from Thomas Jefferson University.  Nick is a member of Invisible Sentinel’s Board of Directors and serves on several biotech start-up advisory boards.  He is also a lecturer in entrepreneurship at Thomas Jefferson University.  He holds multiple utility and design patents for diagnostic technologies, and has published scientific manuscripts in the fields of bacteriology, virology, immunology, molecular biology, and cancer immunotherapy.
