Creating Business Opportunities in Times of Uncertainty

Join entrepreneur and venture capitalist Jon Gosier for a discussion about creating business opportunities in times of uncertainty, raising venture capital for a new venture, and keeping your skills relevant in a rapidly evolving business environment.

Jon Gosier is Co-Founder and CEO of video ad-targeting company, AuDigent. He has nearly a decade of experience in data science, venture capital and international business. He is a Venture Partner at the $60MM venture fund Social Starts and founder of Cross Valley Capital.

In that time he's lead an array of data projects as a consultant to EMC, Google, FEMA, InQTel, The World Bank, U.S. Department of State, Wounded Warriors and as a sub-contractor to the Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin. His work has been recognized with awards from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Harvard Initiative for Global Health, and the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF). Jon is a long-time member and alum of the TED Senior Fellowship program.

His 2014 TED Talk on "Techonomics" discussed the dual-nature of technology's effect on capitalism and society. Jon has worked extensively throughout the African continent where he founded Appfrica, a tech advisory company, which stimulated over $80M in new economic activity and job creation. Various other initiatives he's been a part of since 2008 continue to play a role in attracting over $400 million in new venture capital deal flow to the African continent. He is an alum of Savannah College of Art and Design.
