Holacracy versus the Pyramid: Tradition & Innovation in Harmony

Zappos is not the only company choosing to follow a different organizational path.  Different than Gore’s Lattice Management, Holacracy is a new organizational structure which allows individuals to self-organize and distribute authority across an entire organization, eliminating the traditional hierarchy of top-down management.  This peer-to-peer workplace brings unique challenges for supporting and enhancing the people who energize filled roles.  Is there a place for HR, or will organizations manage their employees without us? What is the new definition of organization?

Lori Rosenthal

Lori Rosenthal joined VSE, Inc, a Holacracy practicing company to learn the advantages and challenges of this new organizational system.  Lori’s background spans the gamut of HR disciplines and Marketing, as well as start-ups in Austin, TX through Fortune 500 companies in California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Her academic background includes a bachelor in Marketing, an MBA in Organizational Management, and a Masters in Organizational Psychology.
