9:30 – 10:00 AM: Networking
We are finally back after our holiday break.
This month, (February) we are presenting an informative and important topic that will be worthwhile for both not for profit and for profit organizations.
“How Social Media can be a Game Changer for a Not for Profit”
Alex’s Lemonade Stand is just over 10 years old and has just hit a major fundraising milestone of $100 million. The use of social media has been a big part of the organization’s success, (check out their social media page; http://www.alexslemonade.org/about/social-media). Jay Scott, (bio below) is the leader of the efforts identifying and deploying social media tools and strategies. Jay will discuss how they use social media to expand the mission that Alex created throughout the US and beyond.
Jay Scott is the Co-Executive Director of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, (www.alexslemonade.org). When his daughter Alexandra “Alex” Scott decided to hold a lemonade stand to help doctors find new treatments and ultimately a cure for all childhood cancers, including her own, Jay and his wife Liz supported Alex’s mission every step of the way. After cancer took Alex’s life they continued Alex’s legacy of hope. What started as the vision of one little girl has been embraced by a huge team of people around the country and across the world. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has become a leading childhood cancer organization. Funding major research projects looking for new and better treatments.
Please feel free to share this with your network of contacts that may be interested in attending, especially not for profit executives.
