Philly Becomes Biotech Epicenter during BIO Convention - Debrief by Chris Molineaux of PA Bio

For the first time in a decade, the BIO International Convention returned to the Philadelphia Convention Center on June 15-18. BIO is the world's largest trade association representing biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the United States and in more than 30 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.

The BIO Convention was a highly anticipated event that took a lot of planning with expectations that it would leverage the greater Philadelphia region as well as the entire state of Pennsylvania. Governor Tom Wolf addressed the conference noting that: "We love the jobs you bring here. We love the compensation this industry brings to Pennsylvania. We love the way you interact intellectually with our communities. We love the way you work with our universities. While it's great to have you here as part of this convention, we all wish you would come back and stay."

Chris Molineaux, President and CEO of PA Bio, was on center stage leading our state-wide efforts to put the region’s best foot forward. Join us on August 25th as Chris shares his insights on the tremendous success of the BIO 2015 event in Philly which drew over 20,000 people and representatives from over 65 countries around the world. Chris will share some of the highlights and success stories from the event; what it means for Philly and Pennsylvania; and prospects for similar events in the future. In addition, Chris will discuss some of the recent federal policy changes and the implications of those changes to our regional businesses.

Members.Guests - $45
Non-Members - $55
