Beacon Membership - the executive's gateway to a network of diverse, seasoned and generous business leaders at the top of their professions.
Membership in Beacon is by application, sponsorship by a current member, and approval to confirm that members are experienced peers.
The application process includes 4 process steps:
- Your online data profile (this is a series of fields and your uploaded resume)
- Submission of your application fee and first year dues
- Completion of a separate application form that is forwarded to our Membership Committee
- Submission by the sponsor of the sponsorship form on your behalf

Attend events and get to know the Beacon organization.
Get to know a current member in good standing willing to serve as a sponsor.
Understand and share the Beacon Mission & Purpose and the Code of Conduct.
Our Requirements - In confirming senior-level experience, we look at indicators such as:
Position as a "C" level executive (or equivalent).
C-Level compensation: $150k or more of base compensation before bonus for public and private industry; in the not-for-profit sectors, we consider "C" level compensation to be approximately $100k.
Significant business experience and accomplishment at a high level in a complex organization.
Thought leadership and volunteer activities. Because our culture is based on willingness to share your knowledge and expertise, we appreciate your experience as a subject matter expert who gives presentations, authorship of blogs, articles, etc., and volunteer and board experience in corporate and nonprofit organizations.
Secure a sponsor - Sponsors must be current Beacon members. Contact us if you do not know anyone who is a current member. Your sponsor will be asked to complete a form indicating their knowledge of your qualifications for membership.
Understand our Dues and Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $125.00 and the first year dues of $255.00 are due and payable at the time of application.
In the event your membership is not approved, the $255.00 dues portion will be refunded to you.
Beacon is exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code; payments to Beacon are not deductible to members as charitable contributions but may be deductible as businesses expenses in accordance with applicable tax law. No portion of dues are used for lobbying expenses.

You will be asked to accept first year dues (no payment at this point) and then directed to complete the online profile and submit payment. You will then find the link to the membership application. Our application form can be submitted only when all required fields are complete; you cannot save the form and resume completion later.
